As many of you have been seeing, the DreamWorld Website has been changing. There is an area called Ghost Society. When I was thinking up a way to thank my customers for buying from DreamWorld I came up with the idea of gift, highlighted product, and sample. A gift with each order, a product that is highlighted each month and put at 25% off and a free sample of upcoming products to try out before they are highlighted.

Next came figuring out a name, I couldn't use just GHS, LOLOL, since that's not me, so the Ghost Society was born. Each month you will see it updated with the specials of that month. This is my way of thanking everyone for being a DW customer...

Holiday Swatches

Hi everyone,

I have finished some swatches of the holiday shadows and wanted to share them with you. As you will be able to tell, I'm really not great at doing them, but I did fall in love with the colors all over again. Many of them are metallic and there is only 1 true shimmery one in the whole group of 12 colors.
They will all come in a 10 gm jar with 2 gm of product, while the blushes will come in a 20 gm jar with 5 gm of product. I realize some of the shadow jars will not be totally full but that is due to the weight of the mica used...as the saying goes "Not all micas are created equal" LOLOL

Hello everyone,

I figured it was time to update...LOL. I didn't realize it had been so long.
So we got moved into the shop...we had space, not tons but enough to really enjoy working there. But...one thing after another happened, and one of those things is we found out we cannot heat it..this year!!! Well in the mountains of PA, there is no way this is a place to be without heat. Plus, the roof sprang a leak!!! So now the electricity needs to be turned off, we never did get water, and my poor cousin walks around with circles under his eyes trying to keep up.
So while the weather was nice, we decided it was time to evacuate!!!
So the last 2 days, we have moved and moved. Dang I didn't realize how much I had moved into that place since July!!! We probably have another couple days, but by Monday should be out of there and totally set up here, back where we started.

We have rearranged, so it is more efficient and I think once we get going again on Monday we will all be quite happy with the arrangement.

So for any of you who have orders, not to worry, I didn't forget, just have been running around pretty crazy trying to get everything done before it rains again and they have to turn off the electricity to avoid a fire, which was a major concern for me too.

Hello everyone,

Okay, I figured it is time to finally send out the info that everyone is waiting for....

The sale will start August 1st and will last for the month. On September 1st it will finish and anything not sold will be donated to the local women's shelter.
We are still busy setting up the foundations, which while doing this, made me realize that I have too many...but how do I actually cut any of them? Every time I find a color that I need to discontinue someone emails me or I go through information and find out someone uses it.

But by my grand opening, I will have it all worked out since I do have some ideas...

Okay now for the information on the sale:

Orders will be filled in the order they are received. If we are out of something, I will not be making it, and will email you that we don't have it and ask if there is something else you may want to have instead. So, alternate ideas will also be nice.
I have limited quantities of the cremes. The same holds true for whipped cream and whipped strawberries. They will have the same cost as the cremes.

I apologize now if I run out of something.....but since this is a liquidation sale, and I will be working on the new product line, I do not have time to mix up new products.

A Sunny Day.... For Moving!!!!!

Hi all,

So I spent the day moving into the new shop or rather work place, only to find out no electricity and no water. Talk about bummed....do tomorrow, a phone call to the owner and away I go..I hope.

Thank goodness I had help today...Some of the boxes I couldn't lift. So my daughter's boyfriend came to the rescue. So nice to have a young strong guy around...LOLOL

And now that I look at the space, it doesn't look as big as it used to. I just hope that when we are finished we will have the room I am hoping for.

Now on to prices.

The one thing I will not promise right now is this...when the sale will be. I originally planned the month of July...but want it all done and ready, so that no one has to wait very long. Secondly, I planned after the first 2 weeks of July, but after looking at the workspace and seeing so much that needs done, I and a bit worried about that too.

I can promise by the 1st of August, we should be okay, but if it's sooner, I will let everyone know.

I will not be making anything up for the sale, so please be aware as I sell out, I will let you know that. I am just liquidating what I have available now. This will include foundations. After much thought, I decided that I would not keep certain foundation formulas...mulberry (silk), storm, and mist. If you wish anything in these forms they will be special made and there will be a place on the site for you to choose this. All my other foundation formulas will stay, including: Luna, Sand, Cloud (which will be reformulated), and Vapor. Some colors such as Arinna and Hecate will be special order. These both were made special for a couple of ladies and not everyone can wear them...but depending on what you wear, please email me so I can help you out.

In the month of July, anyone who had an outstanding order will be notified and asked if they want the order to continue or their money back. That is only fair, and I apologize for any problem this has caused. There are actually only a couple orders, but I want to have all my ducks in a row. Anyone who had anything that is back ordered, will have it shipped this month, in full size no matter what size they ordered. And if they are waiting for full size, they will be contacted and asked what other products they wish to have, as a gift for their patience.

A New Beginnning and a Sad Ending

As with anything there has to be a beginning and an ending. And those 2 things have hit me hard in the last few days.

I finally graduated from school...YAHOO!!!! Which means that I have some catching up to do and also means that I will be back to work. I realize that I need to go through what I did from when I was last open and make sure all orders are out or that the customers get their money back. I will be doing all that in the first 2 weeks of July. So if you haven't heard from me in a bit, expect something soon.

I will also be moving into a new building. This will give me the space to put my products once finished, give me a room to do nothing but mix so not everything is dusty. Plus it gives me a full kitchen all to myself to create wonderful skin care products. The plan is that I will have help, but if that doesn't pan out then it will be just me, myself and I and it will take much longer then I wish it to, but that can't be helped.

At this point I plan on reopening in Oct, but that is dependent on how much I can get done alone or with help. I am reformulating some of the foundations, so they will all be on the same level and in doing so will create extra light and dark versions to accommodate everyone I hope. Some foundation colors that were never bought, will totally disappear. Others that were made for specific customers will be in special order only. I will also diminish the number of bases I will be making. I will keep cloud, luna, sand, and vapor. I will be selling off storm, mist, and mulberry at discounted prices. I will also sell off many other foundation colors as I will be remaking them. I am selling off all of my products at this time for lower prices and will have fresh made up when I reopen. I will also be adding to what will be available.

I will put up a pricing chart in the next week, so that ladies can check it out if they are interested. All orders will be via email at this time and I cannot promise from day to day what will be available, but will try to keep everything updated as I run out of something. I will not make it for this sale. What I have is what will be sold.

But I will post more when I am finished figuring everything out.

I can tell you that school was good for me. It helped bring me out of a bad clinical depression and I refuse to ever let that happen again, plus it was an eye opener for the beauty world. I found that women can be some of the meanest heartless people in the world. And for me it's so hard to believe. For some reason makeup and beauty, which is supposed to be so much fun, turns into something that is unknown to the world around them. Women who are the kindest ladies in the world turn into raving maniacs when it comes to makeup, hair and skin care. And that's sad. We are only on the earth for a short time and to spend some of it bashing others or making mean remarks or just being hurtful, it is enough to boggle the mind.

I watched day after day as women would tear down the self esteem of others they did not like. They didn't take into consideration that there were others out there doing the same thing, or that they were truly destroying another person. They just did it, and in the end they had all kinds of reasons for their justification. But meanness and cruelty, no matter how they are done, are still the same.

So for me graduation was a wonderful time. Only to learn that someone I have only known from a distance has also been hurt and in her way destroyed. Her business will now be closed and maybe then I hope she can find some closure. I would like that for her.

I have great respect for ladies who can stand up for others and throw caution to the wind. We, as people, don't always do the perfect thing and we make mistakes, but hopefully we grow from them. We take that learning and turn it into something good. But when something hits you from two sides it may not be that easy and when your livelihood and way of life is threatened, then you do what you find later in retrospect is wrong. But in the end you are only human. And humans are not infallible.

The problem with the makeup world today also is money. The big companies want to make it, they aren't in it for the glory, they want the bucks and will do what is needed to make them, even if it is illegal. There is a lot of that going on, but before you start slapping the small person, I think you need to look the big cheeses...I will not name them, I don't think that is necessary.

I am truly saddened to hear of Aromaleigh closing. Kristen and her makeup has been around for a long time. I cannot truly say I know her, because I do not, but no matter what the issues are I wish she would not shut the doors. I have heard rumors that her personal life isn't perfect, but that is her business and should never be up for comment, just like I would not like mine to be. Ladies have bought from AL for a long time. I was not there so I cannot say that she did anything wrong, but when all is said and done tomorrow is another day. If it would help to think of that fact that life is short, makeup isn't supposed to be life or death, it is supposed to be fun, soothing. And the biggest thing is everyone makes mistakes. And while others want to judge, in the end, it is not our job....nor is it our job to condemn...If something is done wrong, it will be handled in time...and if it's not done wrong, then there is no reason to find fault....

So please stand back, think of how you would feel as a student, or as a owner if you were nothing but condemned. I have heard that things were handled wrong, and I am sorry for that....but in the end we are all human....

Hug someone next to you and tell them you love them, you never know what tomorrow may bring....

What's New??????

I'm sure everyone is wanting to know what's new...so I thought I would take a few minutes to update...

First and foremost, you will notice that DW is now back to DreamWorld. That is for a couple reasons, first I found out that since I spell it different I can keep it and secondly I like my name. Plus everyone knows DreamWorld...so here I am...and since I have my son working on my own logo, I'm going to trademark the rascal so it's all mine...LOL

Secondly, I am almost finished with school and as I sit and write this, I only have 4 days left...YAHOO!!!!! I can't tell you how excited I am on that. I will officially be finished at 4:45 pm on Thursday, June 24th. Then I am supposed to leave on a quick trip to Charleston, SC to get my mom, who has been visiting her sister for the past 6 weeks. Still not sure if I will go, or not...
But right after that it will be the first part of July and DW will be moving. She has a new home and I'm so excited about it. I have wanted for a long time to move into my own place. Plus, it is so hard for me here with the dogs to do skin care, so it has been put on hold. But now DW will be moving into a trailer, with it's own kitchen so skin care is a dream that can be realized. So when DW reopens, there will be skin care products for different skin types. Which will be continually added to as time goes on.

I am also going to redo my shadows and blushes...and other makeup so for that reason I am selling off all my stock at reduced prices. This sale will run for 2 weeks...whatever is not sold, will go back into stock if I keep the color. I'm going to make some hard decisions. Anything that didn't sell well, will be discontinued. I had hoped not to ever do that but find that I need to. So please, if there are any products that you love and want to see continued drop me an email at dreamworldminerals@gmail.com.

At this time, the sale will not include foundations. At least not at first. I am also going to have to make some hard decisions based on those also. I am going through the stock...per color and per base and decide which type needs to remain and which needs to be discontinued. I find that even though many wanted the silk based foundation it really doesn't sell well. Cloud does sell, but storm does not, although many like storm better. So with some of this knowledge, plus looking at the colors that are available, some of these may also hit the sale...
My creams will remain...they are very popular. Some of the silica glows and silica powders may not stay though...as I said, I am thinking this through, so if there is something you love, please let me know...

The sale will start mid July, and will be an email order only sale. I do this for a couple of reasons...as something sells out, I want to be able to tell the customer it's no longer available, plus I do not want the site up yet.
I plan to be up in the autumn...

One of the goals I have had since the beginning is fast shipping, yet somehow , it never turned out the way I wanted...but I promised myself and my customers I would not reopen until shipping time is 24 to 48hr turn around. That is a promise I intend to keep.

Also, if there are any products you would enjoy seeing, please drop me a note. I have been so busy lately that I haven't been able to get back the way I would like..but hopefully that will soon come to an end.

One of the other things I am so looking forward to is help. Upon completion of school, I am an esthetician along with my daughter-in-law and daughter. We each have jobs we enjoy, so by splitting up jobs it will make everything run that much smoother. I know all the jobs since I did it all for so long, but Cait loves answering emails and knows my makeup. Jess can help with that, and Cait will do the shipping. Each will have an email for you to write to so they can answer and check on your order if you have questions. Jess, doesn't like shipping, but like organizing, so she will gather orders. We have worked out a 3 step check system so all orders are done quickly and efficiently. And I will continue to be the creator and mixer of the products. So please if there is a problem never hesitate to contact us. I will be sure to create a listing of emails to catch us at...

I cannot begin to tell you the new products that will be coming out...I have so many ideas and just am not sure where to start. Once I get organized, I will start looking at creating new products and remaking some old ones. I can tell you that lipsticks will be some of the new products you will see...

DreemWyrlde Minerales et Scinn Caire

As all of you by now are starting to wonder what is happening with DW. And why this strange spelling and name????

When I shut down, I made a promise to myself that I would not reopen until I could ship quickly and effectively...I also promised myself that when I reopened I would have all my new products done, have the shoppe straightened out so that I could ship fast, grab what I needed quickly and have all sorts of new products made up.

While being closed I was searching the computer, per google, by buddy...LOL and found a story called Dream World Cosmetics. At first I thought it was a large company and thought geesh, when did this happen and how could I have been out of the loop so fast. But, alas, come to find out it was story, short story at that, that was copyrighted in 1995. The sad part is since it is copyrighted, I cannot now use that name for my minerals. Plus, my disability came through. Many who know me know that I have multiple medical issues and have been trying to get my disability for over 2 years. Well it finally happened!!!! So then I had to sit down and really do some soul searching. Did I want to continue with DW or did I want to stop? And how do I feel about esthetics, something that I have been going to school for?

In answer to those questions, I found that I love my makeup and put so much time, thought, and love into each and every product, plus it keeps me on my toes. I end up doing tons of research all the time and love doing that. To stop with DW would mean taking away my goals and put me in the invalid block...which I'm not ready for yet. Plus as for esthetics...one of the reason I started this was because I wanted to create my own skin care line. But I also wanted to help my girls get through school, not knowing if they could do it or not without my encouragement, plus the fact that I needed to understand what they were doing to help. But what I found is I LOVE it!!!! I love giving facials and would have no problem volunteering my time to give them to ladies who would in no way be able to afford them. I may end up setting up something like that eventually.

So where does this leave me? Well, I still want to do makeup, but have to change my name, plus I want to do facials, if I could. My daughter is also in school with me along with one of my best friends, and my son's girlfriend. We are all loving it, and want to eventually do something together and a couple of us want to go on for makeup artistry. I also had to come up with a name for my makeup. I wanted to keep the same initials..since I'm so used to calling it DW. I researched and researched, checking out Old English, Irish, Middle English, Old Saxon, all kinds of ideas and finally settled on DreemWyrd. But as that was pointed out to me, and I realized it too ladies would see Wyrd, as word. So I added an l, with 2 ladies, Phyrra, and Camellia-Rose both coming up with those ideas. And of course couldn't add an l without adding a e...so hence we now have DreemWyrlde.

I find that I really like the looks of it...I change minerals to minerales...changed skin to scinn, which is Old English and just added an i to care. And instead of using and, I went with the French et, which means the same thing...and is also used in Old English. So what you see is quite the mixture, but as the names of my makeup can be strange and stand out, why shouldn't the name of the whole be the same way.

And as I am in esthetics we are supposed to be skin care specialists, so you will be seeing so much more on here about skin care for all skin types. You will be seeing what's up and coming for products both skin care and makeup.

I will be sharing new colors coming out, along with new products. I will be introducing lipsticks soon. I'm excited about those. Also look for mascara and a mascara base that will help hold it on longer. I am also looking at creating a eye shadow base...

But my final goal for now is to finish the orders from Halloween. I still have a few left...and will be finishing them up soon. If I am out of something I will be contacting to see if you want a substitution, if not then I will refund money.

Once they are all done, then its time to revamp the shoppe, and start looking at filling up what I have, plus getting new products made and ready to go.

Since this will take a bit, I do NOT plan to reopen until the fall, but when I do there will be a HUGE sale.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Hello everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! I hope you got lots of chocolate and beautiful gifts from your sweetheart, whoever it may be...

I had originally planned to be open today with my new products and new worlds, but as everything played out...school was much more work then I thought!!! So...what I decided to do is this...I have already talked about my BookWorm World which will introduce many books that I have read and enjoyed...so please if there are others out there that I have missed, please share then with me. I love to read and tend to read romance, mystery, sci-fi, and definitely fantasy. And if I can mix romance and mystery with fantasy it is a winner!!! LOL.

But there is one world that I have close to me and haven't shared what it is or what it will accomplish. And since I didn't reopen when planned, I still feel that today is the day to unveil it in it's entirety.

As we all know, St. Valentine's Day is the one special day of the year for lovers and sweethearts to show their love and devotion to each other. It is a fun and happy day...but for someone close to me it is a day that is marked by tragedy.

Last year on Valentine's Day, a special lady lost her daughter to an accident. The weather being as it is this time of year produced black ice, which caused the car that Katelyn was riding in to crash, which in turn ended Katelyn's young life. She was 19 and an only child to her mom Kathy. She is missed everyday by her mom, her grandparents, her aunt, and cousins. Today it is one year since this loss. And in memory of Katelyn, I had planned to create a collection of makeup and donate the proceeds to this collection to the ASPCA in her memory. But as life got away from me, suffering from illness, going to school, and everything else that happens daily I thought I would do this to mark the one year anniversary of Kate's death. Again life went full force...I am in school and while I am only going part time, I had no idea that it would take up so much of my time. I have no regrets in the education I have received...but at the same time I did make a promise to myself and Kathy....

But my brain being what it is, it even works while I sleep and continues to amaze me at times...LOL. And while trying to rest...I realized that there was a way that would keep Kate's memory alive for a quite a while. Plus to celebrate being young and full of life...which was so important to Kate and her family.

With that thought in mind...I will be creating a world named; Katelyn's Magical Garden.
This is based off a poem her aunt wrote and read at her funeral and says it all....
I am putting a copy of if below for you to read and I'm sure you will agree with me....

KATELYN'S GARDEN

You came to us gently for such a short time

Like a butterfly softly floating on a summer breeze

You gave love and joy to every flower in your garden

With your sweet smile and beautiful music,

All around you would flourish and grow.

Then all too swiftly - the reason not known,

You floated away into that most majestic garden of all

The music has stopped, the colors are gone,

The rain is unending

Your earthly garden cries.

Now all we must do is watch for the summer day

When we will see your gossamer wings again

When will that sweet summer come?

Friends are flowers in the garden of life

I hope that Kate is in her own magical garden and is watching over her mom who is a special lady...

Katelyn's Magical Garden will be a bright, fun, and happy collection. There will something there for everyone...plus it will be set up differently from all the rest of the collections. Everything will be made to interchange...from shadows, to blushes to lippies. There will be muted colors for the young....to bright and bold colors for the brave and young at heart. There will be sparkles and happiness throughout this collection.

Plus each month a percentage will be donated to a charity...The charity for Katelyn is ASPCA to help animals that she loved so well. I will also donate another month to the cancer society in Kate's name ...for her mom.

My youngest child...and my only daughter is also a Caitlyn. And while growing up she could be a handful as most children are, she is a loving and giving person. So on the other months, I will let her make the choice where to donate and I will post where the money went...Plus I have also been told of another little Katelyn. She is 5 years old and born with CP (cerebral palsy) and so I will make a donation there one month and on the other months continue to make it there or let her family choose the charity.

Each Katelyn (Caitlyn) portrays a kindness and willingness to give...which is what Katelyn's Magical Garden means. Life is so hard and what happiness we have needs to be shared and made special. I am hoping to give a little piece of this by sharing our magical garden with others and giving our time and money to help someone less fortunate.

So in loving memory of Katelyn Nicole Martibello keep watch for Katelyn's Magical Garden and all the beautiful colors what will come to life in it....

Hi everyone, It's been a while since I have done this and thought I need to keep up with it. I am planning on telling what's happening, giving some skin tid bits and finally showing some of the new products coming up.

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year. Mine was quiet..but that's okay. The past year was a horrible one for me and DW. It seemed that if anything could go wrong it definitely did. I still have orders to finish from Halloween and while most may not think so, I am working on them since I want to get them shipped a much as the customer want's to get them. I had hoped to have all packages shipped by this time, but one thing after another happened and for that reason, I will no be reopening until I have the shoppe totally reorganized so that shipping is fast. That had always been my plan, but there are times (when the cart was open) it just didn't become an option for me..so I kept straggling on. But now that I have a plan of action to do then it will be done...just not as fast as I would like.

As many of you may or may not know, I am again a student. I can tell you I'm not thrilled with this...at my age I thought schooling was done. But I do love what I am learning. My marks are wonderful...I have a 99% average at the present time....and I have learned so much about skin and it's care right along with makeup. I will be having some pictures sent to my email of some fantasy makeup we were doing in class using DW minerals. It will be fun to share what we learned and how far we came in just 4 weeks.

Now, with winter upon us...and yes, I'm one of those that HATES the extreme cold along with the blasted snow and ice...we have to look at caring for our skin...in different ways then we do in the summer. While the sun is a wonderful giver of vitamin D, it is also harsh on the skin and is one the major factors in photo aging our skin. So with that in mind, try to remember your sunscreen. The best type of sunscreen is a broad spectrum form, where it covers the affects of UVA and UVB rays. I have heard many thoughts on this...some believe you NEED the sunscreen no matter, while others believe that antioxidants play a big part also. Both are right. So if you can find something that helps the skin, while adding antioxidants to fight the free radicals then you have a keeper.

Another important part of your winter skin care should be a nice moisturizer. So after you cleanse, and tone (yes, toning is important. It replaces the acid mantle you lost when you washed your face) and while your face is still damp place your moisturizer on. This moisturizer will block in the moisture from the toner and help you skin soak it up leaving your skin even more moisturized. You will also find out that the moisturizer spreads smoother and you will use less. So while you are helping your skin, you are saving money too.

As I get orders finished I will be working on some of the new worlds that I am creating. I will keep the worlds I have now, but will be adding to them. Plus the 2 new ones. As many of you may know I LOVE to read. And as I have progressed through the years I find that my reading tastes change. I remember as a young girl curling up with a book and reading history...as in the forum of biographies and books on history. I think I read just about every book in the library at my grade school. As a teenager, I was still reading biographies and then got into historical romances along with murder mysteries. I could never turn down a good mystery. And I was hooked on these genres for a long time. But if there was a book on ghosts, ghost towns etc. I would grab them in a heartbeat.
And now...what I read is so different from what I thought I would ever read. I still love romance and still love history...I wanted to be a history teacher, but find that I'm hooked on supernatural romances, and sci-fi books. I love reading about ghosts, vampires (never cared for them until recently..lol), werewolves, pixies, fairies and the like. I have gotten into a teenage genre of these things...starting with Harry Potter. Since then I hunted down what I could find. I read the Eragon Series...am still waiting for the next one, got into Sookie Stackhouse's life, checked out Zoey Redbird in the House of Night collection, along with so many other books. I just discovered the Morganville Vampire collection and read the 1st two books in that set...waiting for the rest now. And the list can go on and on.
After reading so many of these books I hit on the idea to create shadows based off them. So the BookWorm World was born. I have sent some shadows to Phyrra to sample and I have a few other ladies who will be getting these also before they come out. Here is a preview..with more to come....

So as I get new..I will be sharing these with you.

The other new world will be introduced on Valentine's Day...I will let everyone know what will be happening with this world. And although there will not be any pictures right away..they will be coming...

A time for Reflection...then a look to the future

I can still remember the day I got my first makeup as if it were yesterday.
I was in 6th grade at the time and had a friend who had so much makeup. Her mom wore it after all, so she made sure her only daughter had her fair share. While my mom never wore it, so there was nothing for me to get into at home.
She told her mom how fascinated I was so her mom went into her room and found some that she was willing to give up and gave it to me. If she had given me a million dollars it wouldn't have been any more important than that makeup was. Her only stipulation was that I couldn't wear it to school...which I took to heart. I don't think I ever wore makeup to school until I was in high school...and by then I was babysitting enough to buy my own.
I read every book I could find on application and tried most of the techniques until I found the one that worked for me. I would watch shows on makeup, look at other ladies and how they applied their makeup...
I was definitely one minded at that time.

At one time I had actually thought to go to school for hair and makeup, but I wanted to be a history teacher so much more...but somehow through it all, I became a nurse...go figure. There are days even now I'm not sure how that happened...

But in the military I was a medic and then was a nurse aide, so I guess the next progression was to nursing. For me...it wasn't an ideal occupation. With my flighty personality and the empathy I would feel, I found that I hurt just from watching others suffer. And I was still fascinated with history and makeup. But I needed to support my family and that was the one occupation that was pretty guaranteed for a job (although believe it or not there was a time that even finding a job as a nurse was hard...but those days are long over).

So I continued to work, and dabble in makeup. Then I was watching QVC one night and saw an advertisement for Bare Minerals and wanted so much to try them. I loved the idea of more natural and the powder foundation.

When I finally got my kit, I was so excited...only I didn't like the feel of it and I could never get the color right. So I started looking around and finally settled on a company named Monave. I liked the choices in foundation and eventually became friends with the owner and the moderator for her forum.

But as with anything, once you have the makeup and found that fact that you loved something so much and just had this artistic part of you sitting there, you start playing with the minerals yourself.

And with that I discovered something amazing. I loved doing it!!! It was relaxing and fun...and as time went by...the idea of starting DreamWorld came into focus.

I had been an RN for quite a while at that time but knew that with my health issues were going to get the best of me sooner or later.

In 2000, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At that time I already had asthma, but it was pretty well under control. I actually have had MS since 1996, but didn't know it...since mine decided to start in my spine instead of my head. I can tell you with that diagnosis, I gave up...I felt that at 39 years old my life was over. And it took me a few years to finally figure out that it wasn't. That it was just beginning.

So meeting Deb (owner of Monave) in 2006 was the best thing that could have happened to me. On our anniversary that year, my husband and I went to Baltimore and had so much fun. I became Deb's moderator which opened up a whole new world...and the learning process was phenomenal. And I was finally realizing that I was living again, not just going from day to day...surviving. Plus with the loss of my father in 2001 I just didn't bounce back as I usually did from life changes...and discovered that I had chronic gastritis (a stomach ailment that can be quite painful and debilitating, although I'm lucky, I never had any bleeding and was determined to get better..which I did although it can always raise it's weary head and does from time to time) and clinical depression. I had always had seasonal depression, but this was so much different and definitely so much worse...and although I am on medicine for this..there are still days that are worse then others.

So the makeup was a Godsend to me. It gave me purpose again. And being married to a man who was so supportive didn't hurt either. From the time we med, my husband and I have been inseparable. I consider him, along with our children and our new granddaughter some of the greatest gifts in my life.

So, as with everything...life keeps going on, revolving, and changing and before long I found myself creating my own colors...originally planning on giving them to Deb...for Monave.

But she was busy with her own creations as it should be...so I got this idea. Why couldn't I start my own company. I thought the colors I had made were beautiful and they stayed all day. So I started researching and learning. I had a mission again. And it was something I loved so very much. I was tired of seeing all the pain that people could go through in life, I wanted to see the beauty and the fun again.

Believe me when I say, there are things in the world worse then death...I have seen them. As a nurse I saw them daily and there are still thoughts that will run through my mind and bring tears to my eyes.

So I started planning...researching...and creating. Then to come up with a name...that took a bit. I have loved history and mythology since I was a young girl, so why not put them into play with my makeup...and knowing I was going to create worlds so different from ours...that DreamWorld Minerals was created. I knew that eventually I would no longer be able to work.I never planned on being on disability...I could work. I may not be able to be a nurse but I could be productive...but I would need a couple years to get DW going. But as with most things, plans were taken out of my hands.

My MS was progressing and come to find out I have had Fibromyalgia since 1994, plus I found out just 2 years ago when I fell at my job in a freak accident that I have severe osteoarthritis. The long and short of this is I can no longer work as a nurse...but since I had never worked in retail, DW has been a real challenge for me...which I am still learning. And thanks to one of best friends, Jen Flanagan, I have had someone who could help me by answering questions. She owns a natural skin care company... www.camellia-rose.com and I can tell you her cleansers and creams are the bomb. Shipping is slow for her products, but they are well worth the wait.

I pretty well mastered shadows quickly...and even now they are my favorite thing to make. I love the bright colors and every shadow is an adventure...Foundations are another story. I can't tell you how many trials I had to throw away...and even with Jen giving helping hints I just couldn't get around it...until I took the time to think it through for myself...now I have them down to a science so they always come out the same.

Okay enough of the past...now to the future.

I finally have help!!! For the longest time I did it myself or had the kids help me, but for them they just weren't as into it as me and just didn't want to go to the standards I wanted. So I did it alone. But now one my best friends is here from Tennessee to live and is helping me. I have 3 friends who are more sisters then friends...each I would trust with my life. Carol, my helper, Jen Flanagan and by best friend Luey. I am one of the luckiest women in the world to have the friends and family that I have.

Carol and I have been working on restocking and are still busy doing this...when we are finished I am hoping shipping will be lightning quick. She is a wiz with organization that I am not. So we are implementing them as I write this.

And there will be so many new products coming out...some sooner then others as I finish them and get them tested and ready. I know that one of the newest that I have finished is the night time minerals...which is being put in packages for everyone to try out. Then there is an eye lash moisturizing oil that will be out soon. Along with a night time clay product.

Eventually I will launch my natural skin care line...but that is going to take some time.

I am not also coming more alive...lol. It's fun to think of the future again instead of remaining status quo. Carol has been good for me in this.
